Industries Martec, established in 1982, is located in Quepos, Costa Rica, on the Pacific Coast. We have evolved over the course of 20 years into Central Americas premier catcher/processor of fresh and frozen fish filets and portions. Martec Industries caters to many high end restaurant chains, distributer and the warehouse club industry. While there are plenty of other companies that export fish to the U.S. few share our commitment to quality and professionalism. Our company has been featured several times in "Seafood Business" magazine. Also the Costa Rican Export Development Council named Industries Martec "Exporter of the Year" for 2002.
We operate our fishing fleets, now at ten vessels, and we have established buying stations throughout Central America and South America as well. We currently export over four million lbs. annually, primarily swordfish, tuna, mahi, grouper, snapper and several other species into the US and European markets. We produce whole fish, loins, fillets and portions cut to our customers' individual specifications, both fresh and frozen. Our modern plant, located directly on the water, is fully HACCP compliant as well as EU certified. All fresh product is processed and flown out the day it is received. Our frozen production is alway produced from fresh product received the same day. We never carry production over to the following day and we never produce "twice frozen" product. We have just recently expanded our processing and freezing capacity, which is currently 30,000 lbs. daily. We pride ourselves on our ability to meet the exacting specifications of our customers and "program" sales are a major part of our business.
Our goal is not to become the biggest player in the seafood business... that would require to many compromises. Instead, we continue to look for ways to become a more valuable partner with our customers who share our commitment to quality and our vision of mutually beneficial growth.
